Remember to register early for class as class size is limited. Payment in full is required in advance. Class fees are non-refundable 48 hours prior to the class. Most classes require a minimum enrollment. We know that lots of reasons pop up causing you to run a bit late, but if you find you will be more than 10 minutes late for class we ask that you please take a minute to give the shop a call to let us know.

Supply lists are provided. Please go over them, as some classes require cutting and maybe some sewing before class! Basic sewing supplies include a sewing machine in good order. A 10% discount applies to all quilt class supplies.

Please be sure that your sewing machine is in good order and you're comfortable with it. If your machine has been on a shelf for a while, don't forget to dust it off and have it serviced before class. Nothing is more frustrating than to sit down to a machine that doesn't want to cooperate! You will enjoy yourself much more if you take care of this ahead of time. Thanks!!

Thursday: July 3, August 7, Sept 4 Time: 10am - 1pm Just for beginners or those who need a 'refresher course'! We will do the two blocks as seen in the shop sample.

Beginner Quilt Class Instructor: Becky Madasz $50 plus supplies (5 sessions)

Wednesdays: August 20 - Sept. 17 Time:10am - 2pm Learn the basics of quilting in this class. Learn about color, rotary cutting and piecing along with the basics of quilt construction. During the class you will make a table runner and a wallhanging/table topper.

General Applique Instructor: Becky Madasz $6 each month

Thursday:July 10, August 14, Sept. 11 Time: 10:00am - 1:00pm This is a sit and sew type of class. You'll work on your project with Becky helping you along the way. Kits available.

Block - A - Month CHRISTMAS 2008!! Instructor: Roni Hunt $12 each month

Saturday:July 12,August 9, Sept.6 Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Yes, a Christmas 2008 Project! Have a Christmas sampler ready for 2008. We will start now by doing 2-3 blocks a month. It will be ready to quilt by June and ready for you to display or give as a gift for the Christmas 2008 season! Piecing and applique. This can be done either by machine or hand! Book required. This is an ongoing class.

Saturday, July 26 Time:10:00am - 2:00pm The domestic art of hand quilting is back in vogue and in full swing. More and more people are expressing a desire to finish off their pieced and appliqued quilt tops with beautiful hand stitches. Join us in small classes where you will learn the values of fabric, needles,thread, hoops and thimbles. You'll also learn how to avoid carpel tunnel syndrome while quilting. One of the many pleasures of hand quilting is the peacefullness that takes over when the fingers begin to move in a quiet rhythm. Come join us in the resurrection of this gentle art. If you have had any doubts about this handcraft, please remember we all started with big uneven stitches, but we had to start somewhere!

Francy Gordon (a nationally recognized bear teacher) has her own little den here at Country Quilts and Bears. Do you have any furs lying around your home? Our Florida weather doesn't really necessitate their use...why not contact Francy? She'll re-purpose your heirlooms into one-of-a-kind treasures. Francy prepares and has bear kits available from her personal designs. She and the shop maintain a complete inventory of bear supplies and many commercial bear patterns for your consideration. We have an excellent selection of mohair in a variety of colors and treatments such as multicolor and curls, etc.
